MESQUITE IS GROWING RAPIDLY

The number of business licenses  has nearly doubled in the past two years alone, and has increased by 525 percent since 1997.  Construction activity is also on the rise.  All signs point to continued growth for the Mesquite business community.  In a little over a decade Mesquite's population has grown from 1,500 to more than 18,000.  There are over 10,000 additional housing units currently on the drawing board or under construction.  At 2.7 persons per household this represents over 27,000 new residents.  Not surprisingly, chamber members are optimistic about the future of Mesquite.

WHY DO BUSINESSES COME TO MESQUITE?

A recent survey of chamber members found that the primary reasons for choosing to operate a business in Mesquite are: Anticipated Community Growth and Quality of Life.  This survey also found that 94 percent are satisfied with their decision to do business in Mesquite, and most, 77 percent , say that from a business perspective Mesquite is a better place to do business than other communities where they have been.
